Information Security

Considering the importance of information security to the CBE, it always seeks to provide and meet the security requirements necessary to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of its information assets according to the relevant standards, laws, and regulations. This is to ensure a safe working environment that supports achieving the CBE goals, in line with the country-wide objectives and sustainable development, through initiatives that rely on the latest digital technology, cope with the evolving digital economy and encourage/promote cashless financial transactions concept.​

As such, the Information Security Department works to:

  • ​​​Lay the foundations of "Information Security Governance" that sets an integrated strategy to preserve the security of the CBE's information assets.
  • Promote the awareness and effective coordination between all the CBE sectors and departments through the applying best practices that aim to protect information assets, through a robust process for managing information security risks to ultimately mitigate these risks.
  • Continuously improve the information security policies and procedures and ensure that they are applied effectively across all departments.
  • Enhance awareness of the CBE employees concerning:
      • their roles and responsibilities towards preserving the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the CBE information assets, and
      • communicating the risks and threats associated with the rapid-evolving modern technology usage to achieve the CBE's strategy of providing all financial services and transactions in an electronic manner.
  • Ensure that the CBE's senior management monitors information security updates to ensure achieving and maintaining the CBE information security.​
